Hyperion parking lot: Summer and winter weekdays and weekends, $4.

2. Manhattan Beach Municipal Pier

El Porto: meters $1 an hour.

Culiacan Parque: 26th Street and Manhattan Beach meters $1 an hour.

Pier parking downtown: $1 an hour.

Parking structure: 50 cents an hour.

On street: 75 cents an hour.

3. Hermosa Beach Municipal Pier

Parking Lot: off of 11th Street.

Parking Structure: entrance off of 13th Court. 75 cents an hour, $8 maximum year-round. $6 flat rate for cars entering the lots after 6 p.m. Fridays and weekends. 3:30 to 7 a.m., free.

4. Redondo Beach

Many parking meters, 75 cents an hour.

Pier Parking: 50 cents each 20 minutes. Maximum: winter hours $3 during week, $5 weekends. Maximum: summer hours $5 during week, $7 weekends.

Veterans Park: 75 cents an hour.

Seaside Lagoon: 200 Portofino Way: 310-318-0681. A heated saltwater swimming pool. There is a sand beach, volleyball courts and a recreation room suited for meetings, luaus and other occasions. Parking at Seaside Lagoon is $3 per car and $10 per bus with validation from the Seaside Lagoon office.

Seasonal hours: 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., seven days a week. Cost: $4.50 adults over 17; $3.25 children under 17; under 2 free.

5. Torrance Beach

Parking lot: 10 a.m. to 5:45 p.m., seven days a week. Cost: $4.50 adults over 17; $3.25 children under 17; under 2 free.

Swimming, surfing, diving, concessions, south end of bike path, Strand walkway, volleyball courts, swings, restrooms, showers.

6. San Pedro

Cabrillo Beach: Shoshonean Road. Cabrillo Beach summer parking, $7; winter rates, free. Windsurfing, volleyball courts, picnic area, pier, barbecue grills,
swimming, surfing, tidepools, restrooms, showers, bait-and-tackle shop.

Cabrillo Marine Aquarium: 3720 Stephen White Drive, 310- 548-7562. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 5 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed Mondays, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission free/suggested donation: $5 adults, $1 children and seniors.

White's Point/Royal Palms State Beach: 1799 Paseo del Mar. Picnic facilities, showers, playground.

Parking lots: Summer weekends and weekdays, $6. Winter weekeds and weekdays, $5.

White's Point Bluff: Summer and winter weekends, $2 Pt.

Vicente Lighthouse: Palos Verdes Drive, near Hawthorne Boulevard. Lighthouse with interpretive center. View overlooks, whale watching deck (in season), fishing access, picnic tables, diving, hiking, restrooms, showers. Parking free.
